CNC Machinist / Technician
Responsible for performing job assignments on Manual and/or CNC Machines. Manual machine operations include set up and tool selection of conventional Lathes, Mills, grinders, drill presses, and various other standard shop equipment. CNC machine operations include producing products on Lathes or Mills after set up with few machine or program adjustments. Responsible for production of quality products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to set and operate 4/5 Axis CNC Turning Centre
- Possesses and optimizes programming/editing skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues on a daily basis.
- Applicants must be able to apply themselves to multi task roles, and understand the principles of cellular manufacturing.
- Can converse with engineering blueprints and/or written specifications
- Performs quality inspections on work performed by using precision measuring instruments.
- Understand and can implement Lean Tools (5 Why / Pareto)
- Work in a team environment
- Operates other equipment as necessary
- Performs work calculations using Shop Mathematics & Trigonometry
- Has an understanding of TPM and can carry out simple maintenance tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ability to obtain and maintain internal inspection stamp
- Maintains a safe, and clean work environment

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- HND or equivalent plus a number of years experience as a machinist.
- Experience in GE Fanuc Programming
- Strong analytical/problem solving and verbal/electronic communication skills
- Confidence to recommend changes/modification
- Leadership in safety and housekeeping
- Experience in a medical environment would be an advantage
- Experience with Mori-Seiki/Daewoo M/c's an advantage.
Bonus scheme: % of yearly salary when targets met
All equipment & Uniform provided
All applicants must take an eye test of which the cost will be reimbursed up to £125 if safety spectacles required for work.
Based on working a 3 shift system:
Basic salary: £22500 + Shift allowances = 30k+
1 week: 6AM - 2PM Shift allowance 14%
1 week: 2PM - 10PM Shift allowance 14%
1 Month nights 9.30 - 6.30 Monday - Thursday
Shift allowance for nights - 30%
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
