Industrial Systems: Fitter / Tester – Mechanical - Ref: HJS/MF1
BACKGROUND / CONTEXT:
We currently have a vacancy for a Fitter / Tester - Mechanical, reporting to the Production Supervisor. The right person in this role will be assisting this part of the company to grow and develop its capabilities.
This role will have the responsibility for the fitting, assembly and testing of components therefore you should be able to work with minimum supervision to timescales.
You need to be self-motivated and capable of working on your own initiative, flexible, and have previous experience in a similar position.
PURPOSE
The post holder has responsibility for the fitting, assembly and testing of components, sub-assembles and assemblies for Industrial Systems as required and appropriate. Should be able to work with minimum supervision and work to timescales as set by the Production Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve Premier Customer Service.
- Ensure Health and Safety issues are adhered to and ensure that all Quality requirements are met.
- Ensure best practices are maintained based on the specification(s) for the system design(s) to achieve the most efficient process to manufacture and assemble systems.
- Assemble, for test, a variety of hydraulic system solutions.
- Work off site to assist customers in repairs and commissioning if required.
- Undertake additional duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to work within a dedicated team.
- Must be willing to develop their skills in line with business needs, for example, willing to train for testing assemblies/ components.
QUALIFICATION / SKILLS:
- Experience of working with large assemblies.
- Experience of working on hydraulic systems.
- Experience of assembling hydraulic pipe work and fittings.
- Ability to interpret engineering and hydraulic drawings.
- Ability to build assemblies and sub-assemblies to test level and assist/ test when required.
- Practical hands on approach to problem solving.
