SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Our Client is recruiting a Software Engineer - ASP.NET Developer to design and implement the customer facing PC communications software and update and maintaining their current in-house production/service support systems as required.
Software Engineer- ASP.NET Developer
Reporting To: NPI Director
This company is a major player in the measurement of landfill
gas worldwide. It is the market leader in the supply of portable landfill gas
analysers and also has a range of other gas analysis products.
Due to moving part of the software development to the UK they are now
expanding the software team to support and develop their installed monitors
and landfill database system.
The role
Key responsibilities:
Design and implement the customer facing PC communications software
and update and maintain the current in-house production / service support
systems as required.
Key Skills required:
- C++, C# using Microsoft Developer tools (.NET Framework, Visual studio)
- Microsoft Windows XP, VISTA
- Experience using 3rd party DLL's and device drivers.
- USB, IrDA, RS-232 comms experience would be useful
- SQL Server 2000/2005 experience would be useful.
Personal qualities:
The person will be working with a team of other software engineers –
currently three, but set to expand over the coming months. The software
team is part of the NPI (New Product Introduction) team that also includes
electronic and mechanical engineers. The successful applicant will be
expected to work on all aspects of the software, from specification to
finished product.
Commercial experience:
The core goal of the team is to create world class, high value added
software. Customer focus and commercial awareness are essential
qualities for the role.
