SOLIDWORKS DESIGN ENGINEER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate SolidWorks 3D Work Station
- Produce design schemes/specifications for new or modified Products.
- Produce GA drawings.
- Produce fully detailed parts drawings
- Produce Parts Lists for new or modified Products for preparation of Bill of Material
- Produce renderings and presentation materials.
- Provide technical advice & information on products to colleagues & to customers
- Identify relevant technical issues and advise the Directors & Management Team accordingly.
- Ensure safe procedures & good practice are followed in manufacture, assembly and installation
- Attend site & project meetings where required.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering.
- Assist in new product design & development, prototyping & costing exercises.
- Ensure all products maintain identified quality standards.
- Approval of fabrication/working drawings for lighting product materials.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years drafting experience using SolidWorks or other similar 3D draughting package developing mechanical products.
- Expert user in SolidWorks.
- Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering
- Fully computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Design for Manufacture
- Design for Assembly
- FEA and photo-realistic rendering skills would be advantageous but not essential
- Reporting to the Lighting Engineering Manager
Salary Maximum: £30,000
Contract Type: Permanent
